The Athens-Attica Hotel Association was founded in 1932 and since then, continues to offer its valuable services to the Greek tourism industry with full responsibility and in various fields. The Association has more than 250 active hotel members of all categories, not only in the mainland of Attica, but also in the islands of the Saronic gulf.

The purpose of Athens-Attica Hotel Association is to safeguard study and promote the economic, social and professional interests of its members, in order to be in the best possible service of the whole society. Furthermore, Athens-Attica Hotel Association has a counseling role in many different operations of Greek Tourism, focusing mainly to the constant upgrade of the country's touristic product.

In order to achieve its goals, the Athens-Attica Hotel Association participates in:
• The Board of The Pan-Hellenic Federation of Hoteliers
• The Board of The Hellenic Chamber of Hotels
• The Board of The Institute of Tourism, Research and Estimates
• Many committees of The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO)
• The Athens Prefecture Committee for Promoting Tourism
• The Board of Region of Attica, as well as in many other organizations, Committees and Boards related to tourism

The Athens-Attica Hotel Association assumes the following responsibilities:
• To publish a monthly "NEWSLETTER" that informs its members and the press regarding its activities and events related to the hotel business.
• To submit proposals and memorandums to national and international organizations.
• To submit proposals to all Greek authorities (central and local), regarding all aspects of the tourism industry.
• To participate in national and international fairs.
• To express its positions with press conferences, announcements, publications and meetings.
• To monitor the region's statistics through cooperation with acknowledged consulting firms.
• To closely cooperate with the municipality of Athens, the Prefecture of Athens and the Region of Attica in order to promote tourism.
• To cooperate with many organizations (governmental and non-governmental), in order to assist to the organization of significant events (i.e. The 2004 OLYMPIC GAMES).
