HOTEL “NOVOTEL ATHENS” CHANGES THE CENTRE OF ATHENS

Supports the program of Accor "PLANNET 21" for the Sustainable Development and undertakes the Planting of Park

The hotel Novotel Athenes, member of the French Group Accor, following the program of Corporate Social Responsibility of Group and having the certification Earth Check, as Green hotel, organized on Wednesday of 24 April 2012, voluntary action for the pattern of green area in the centre of Athens.

In detail, the hotel Novotel Athenes undertook the planting of 350 plants, in park on the contribution of Liosion and Michail Voda Street, in combination with cleaning the surroundings. The initiative was accomplished in association with the Municipality of Athens and the local society as well as with the active attendance of all employees of the hotel, collaborators and the students of the 42nd High School Of Athens.

The event-action began with the presentation of the new program of Group Accor, "PLANET 21", from the General Manager of the Novotel Athenes, Mr Tzikas Evripides, followed by the planting and closed with a lunch, in buffet, with biological products, for all participants and volunteers.

The French group Accor, intends to combine development with growth that respects the environment and local communities, by involving all its hotels and customers in a new sustainable development program - PLANET 21. With this new program, the group Accor strengthens his decision to put the sustainable development in the centre of his activities with 21 obligations that involve the customers, the collaborators and the employees of Group.

This volunteer event from Novotel Athenes constitutes the beginning of actions, that intend to encourage the active attendance of employees, customers but also collaborators as continuity of energies referring to the PLANET 21 program' social and environmental commitments.
