The Museum of Greek Children's Art ( M.G.C.A.) exhibits drawings and three dimensional artwork by children 4 to 14 years old. It focuses in the field of children's artistic creativity and is one of the few world-wide on the subject. Created in 1994, it aims from the start to study and present children's art, to develop children's aesthetic education, to exchange exhibitions and collaborate with relevant institutions in Greece and abroad.The Museum's collections are enriched annually and presently include some 6.000 items. Drawing from its collections the M.G.C.A. renews its exhibits every other year, hosting each time a different theme. Interactive activity corners have been specially designed in order to offer visitors of all ages a creative (bilingual) experience in the exhibitions areas.The Museum's gift shop offers books, postcards, posters, art games and a variety of gifts featuring children's art from its collections.A number of exhibitions have been organized by the Museum, promoting children's art. Among the most important in Greece, those held at the Museum of Cycladic Art and the Ethnological Museum, the Athens University, the Hellenic American Union in Athens, the Athens Concert Hall, the Basilica of St. Mark in Crete and abroad at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, the European Parliament in Strasbourg and the Hamada Museum of Children's Art in Japan..
