Over 1200 Greek popular musical instruments depict the history and evolution of Greek music from the 18th century to today. The musicologist Fivos Anoyanakis opened the museum in 1991 after 50 years of research. Audio capabilities allow the visitor to listen to the music depicted in showcases including Dionysian rhythms of the zoura and melodies of the mandolin.
